Guildford Borough Councillor for Merrow

Joanne Shaw believes Merrow needs Merrow-based residents as councillors. She is a director of the Boxgrove Gardens residents' management company where she lives and like other local parents she knows Guildford badly needs affordable housing so that our adult children can choose to live here.

Jo is as an IT Application Specialist and volunteers with the local West Surrey branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association. During the pandemic she volunteered in local care homes doing covid testing.

Fighting the climate emergency is her passion and is aware that the Liberal Democrats are the only party currently doing anything about this at the council.

Local issues that concern Jo: Epsom Road parade needs tidying up, local bus services are disjointed, the George Abbot underpass needs attention, and many Merrow residential streets are unsafe due to being used as rat-runs. She will campaign for action on all these issues if elected.
