Zoe Franklin will work hard for Stoke
The Liberal Democrats have selected local campaigner Zöe Franklin to stand in the Stoke ward by-election on September 11th.
Zöe has lived in Bellfields for four years and in Guildford for nine. She lives with her husband Chris and young son Reuben.
Zöe has been involved in our local community since 2000 when she began attending the New Hope Centre and became involved with their community work.
Her involvement in the local community has continued to grow. Zöe has been organising projects to help families in the ward with decorating and gardening and helping to organise the family fun days held on Bellfields Green. She is also a member of Bellfields Residents Association and produces their community newsletter.
Zöe is passionate about bringing the community of Stoke together and seeing better provision for the area.
Zöe said, "We need more opportunities for children and young people in the area. We are also fighting for better local roads and pavements in Stoke and action to tackle anti-social behaviour.
"It's time that the Council stopped neglecting our local area."
Sue Doughty, Lib Dem Parliamentary Spokesperson for Guildford, added, "We are delighted to have a candidate of Zöe's calibre standing in Stoke. She is a local resident who is heavily involved in the local community.
"Zöe will be a strong voice for Stoke ward. She will stick up for all local residents regardless of politics and will work hard to make the local area greener, cleaner and safer. With plans being developed for the Slyfield area it is vital that residents' interests are supported by a strong local campaigner."
