Lib Dems lead fight to save shuttle bus

The Liberal Democrat group at Guildford Borough Council were joined by dozens of members of the public on Tuesday evening to urge the Council's Conservative Executive to think again about their decision to end the free Shuttle Bus service in the town centre.

Cllr Fiona White said "The Lib Dems took a stand to try and save the Shuttle Bus - it is a valuable service and the strength of feeling from the public has underlined that we were right to fight for it. It is a real shame the Conservatives have cut this vital service. Guildford's residents can rest assured that the Lib Dems will continue to fight for the Shuttle Bus."

Councillor Sarah Di Caprio, whose Holy Trinity ward sees the majority of the Shuttle Bus journey said: "I'm disappointed that the Conservatives failed to listen to the strong public feeling - let's hope that in time they will change their mind. If not, I am quite determined to keep up the fight for the Shuttle Bus, for the residents of my ward and for everyone else across the borough who values this service."
