Cllr Fiona White welcomes Guildford roundabout announcement

10 May 2011

Guildford West Liberal Democrat Surrey County Councillor Fiona White has welcomed the announcement of the investment of £2 million by Surrey County Council and £2 million by the University of Surrey in improving the roundabout at the junction of Egerton Road and Gill Avenue, Guildford.

Speaking after the announcement at the AGM of Surrey County Council, Cllr Fiona White said: "Since I was first elected to the County Council in 2005 I have been pressing for the County and all local organisations to find a solution to this roundabout which serves the University, the Research Park and the Royal Surrey County Hospital and carries heavy traffic to the A3 and Tesco.

"I am delighted that the County Council has finally recognised the responsibility it has not only to the University, but patients, staff and visitors to the Hospital, as well as the many local residents who have suffered misery for so long."
