Lib Dem win Tillingbourne by-election from Conservatives in landslide

Lib Dem Richard Morris won a stunning victory recently in the Tillingbourne by-election, taking a seat off the Conservatives on Guildford Borough Council.

Winning Lib Dem candidate, Richard Morris, won over 46% of the vote - more than double the votes of the second-place Conservative candidate who achieved just over 21% of the vote share.

Newly elected Councillor Richard Morris said, "I want to say a big thank you to voters in Tillingbourne for electing me as their Borough Councillor. I have served the public as a former senior police officer, I am delighted I will continue to serve them, this time as a Councillor."

"The villages that makeup Tillingbourne ward have serious concerns that have

been neglected by the Conservatives for too long. Their vote yesterday for the Lib Dem shows confidence in our majority group on Guildford Borough Council."
