Bellfields Residents Angry over Damage to Green

1 Feb 2008

Local residents in Bellfields are angry about damage being done to grass verges in the area by cars and lorries.

Before Christmas, a large lorry passing through caused particularly heavy damage when it got stuck in Lime Grove.

Due to poor weather and the wet grass, the damage is not scheduled to be fixed until the end of February.

Cllr Alan Muhammed said, "We are working with local residents and the Council to find a solution. It may be that in some areas, bollards would be appropriate to keep cars and lorries from ruining our green spaces."

Cllr Melanie Wilberforce said, "If you suffer from this problem in your street, please get in touch with Alan or I with your views and experiences."
