Lib Dems invest to improve council housing

Lib Dems on Guildford Borough Council have secured £174 million to improve existing council homes and and develop new council owned housing locally.

Cllr Julia McShane, Lib Dem Leader of Guildford Council said: "I'm really proud of this investment. It means we can deliver more social housing and provide the best service possible to our existing tenants."

The Lib Dems also plan to develop new council properties over the coming 5 years. This will allow more people the chance to stay in the area and have a place to call home.

For years the Conservatives under funded investment like this in homes in Guildford. By contrast the Lib Dems are taking real action to deliver better homes.
