Campaigner Lizzie Griffiths

Lizzie Griffiths was a Councillor for Stoughton Ward on Guildford Borough Council between May 2013 and 2015.

Lizzie says, "In that time I have been on the Planning Committee, Customer & Community and the Grants Panel. I really enjoyed my two years as a Councillor. It's hard work but I love my area and I am happy to work for my residents. Despite not getting re-elected, I am going to keep on being involved in my community and working hard for my residents."

Borough Councillor Gill Harwood

Gill Harwood has been a Councillor in the Stoughton Ward since 2007, during which she has been an active member of the Licensing Committee, Licensing Regulatory Sub Committee and Licensing Sub Committee.

Gill says, "Residents get in touch with me about all kinds of problems. Being a Councillor means that I can help them, I can fight in their corner and I can point them in the right direction towards help."

Borough and County Councillor Pauline Searle

Pauline Searle was elected as Borough Councillor for Stoughton in May 1999 and as County Councillor for Guildford North in May 2005 she was spurred in to getting involved by a desire to learn more about her community and make a positive impact on Guildford Borough. She has lived in Guildford all her life and in the Stoughton area for over 36 years with her husband Vic.

As a County Councillor, Pauline Searle has the following roles:

  • Spokesperson for Children and Families and member of SCC's Children and Families Select Committee
  • Member of SCC's Health Scrutiny Committee
  • Member of SCC's Local Committee in Guildford.

Pauline's interests are very much children, youth and the community. She has been a registered childminder for over 26 years and ran a holiday play-scheme for 14 years for 3 to 7 year olds.

She is a special needs governor at St Joseph's Primary School, a trustee of Disability Challengers, chair of the Management Committee of Stoughton Youth and Community Centre, member of Stoughton Community Association Committee, on the executive committee of Guildford Arts and a governor at Christ's College,

At Guildford Borough Council, Pauline is vice chair of the Community and Development Scrutiny Committee and shadow spokesperson for Parks & Countryside and Play & Sport Development.

Pauline is also involved with the very successful Carols on the Green ably organised by Jan Cook and the Local Neighbourhood Watch. In any spare time Pauline does have, she likes to read.
