Tom Hunt

Guildford Borough Councillor for St Nicolas

Tom Hunt grew up in South-East London and studied at Durham and Birmingham Universities, before moving to Surrey in 1993 for a job based on the Surrey Research Park. He has lived in Guildford since 2001, and in St. Nicolas since 2007. He is married with one daughter and works as a Commercial Lead for a defence company based in Farnborough. He enjoys cycling, skiing and rugby.

Tom was elected to Guildford Borough Council in 2019, representing Friary and St. Nicolas ward. He has been GBC's armed forces champion for four years, and has served on the council's executive for two.

Tom is passionate about redeveloping the town centre, but in a way that does not create issues in other parts of the town. He is keen to see council projects delivered effectively, with consistent governance, delivering value for money for residents.
