Sarah Di Caprio
County Councillor for Guildford South East. Borough Councillor for Holy Trinity.
Sarah Di Caprio was elected as County Councillor for Guildford South East in May 2005. She is originally from Chester in the North West and has lived in Guildford with her husband Luigi for 12 years. Sarah was also elected to the Borough Council in May 2007.
Sarah Di Caprio has the following roles as a County Councillor:
- Spokesperson on Environment and Economy and member of SCC's Environment and Economy Select Committee
- Member of SCC's Local Committee in Guildford.
A languages graduate from Hull University, Sarah is a trained journalist and runs her own public relations business, with clients ranging from household goods manufacturers to a children and young people's theatre company. She is a Fellow of the RSA (The Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures & Commerce), member of the NUJ (National Union of Journalists) and the BHHMA (British Hardware & Housewares Manufacturers Association). Along with her husband, she is a member of the National Trust, Painshill Park and RHS Wisley.
The environment is a particular interest of Sarah's and she has campaigned for improvements in recycling collection and management in Guildford. Transportation and parking too are key issues in the Guildford area and she will be keeping a close eye on these at County level.
Sarah is a keen gardener, loves films, the theatre and reading, and above all is thrilled at the prospect of becoming more involved in her community - and making new friends with the people of Guildford South East!
